Development of stakeholders’ engagement strategy in a cross-border rewilding case study National Park High Tatras

Research team of SlovakGlobe, a joint workplace of Institute of Forest Ecology SAS and Institute of Management STU, participated in the “Train the Trainer” interactive workshop focused on the tools ensuring the stakeholders’ engagement towards the ongoing research of wildE project and the rewilding case studies. Discussion were engaged in the topics such as securing the long-term success of a project and allow anyone affected by to share their inputs and potential concerns to improve and balance the project research. Workshop, in a hybrid format, was held at IUCN European Regional Office in Brussels and coordinated by IUCN EURO.

Olena Shelvytska, PhD student, introduced a cross border rewilding case National Park High Tatras in person. She started with the introduction of our international Slovak – Czech – Polish research team members participating online and the uniqueness of national park nature. Then main objectives and challenges as well as a possible stakeholders’ engagement approach for next years within the wildE project research were presented.

Dr. Stanislava Brnkalakova participated online and actively discussed the stakeholders’ engagement challenges and communication process and jointly with workshop participants created a roadmap for stakeholder engagement including the different elements to consider along the process.
