The Editorial Board members of the Journal Folia Oecologica have learned with sorrow of the death of Peter Zach, who served as a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal. Death occurred suddenly on January 2^nd. Peter was an eminent scientist and a wonderful man. His work and personality will long be remembered. Dr Paul H.
